I loved the farm shop too. Its a great day out.
I really do think the farm shop’s quite exceptional, and probably the best one I’ve been to. And yes, a visit to Chatsworth is always a great day out – I never get bored of it.
Good healthy dish… and a story that took us back to memory-lane… Ah, Mr Darcy and Elizabeth! Beautiful castle!
Thank you. Believe it or not, Chatsworth is officially a house, and not a castle. I probably should have said more about its history, but the first house was built there in 1552, after the estate was bought for 600 pounds. The Cavendish family have lived there ever since, 16 generations on. Fascinating place. I always find out something new each time I visit!
Lovely pictures and beautiful post!
Thank you. It was such a beautiful (idyllic) day that I think it would have been difficult to take a terrible picture!
Great dish there Georgina, love that sort of thing. I’ll echo the compliment on the photos too – really nice!
Thanks Phil. Me too!
Wood pigeon! I’m sure you’ve already cooked the breasts by now, but I love them seared simply, sliced, and served with a grilled stone fruit salad …
I haven’t cooked them yet, and am still thinking of what to do with them. I think you’re right though, and that something simple would suit them best. I’ll let you know…
I have visited this grand & very stylish Chatworth’s estate many years ago, on Holiday with my parents & also visited the farm shop! I loved it there! This is quite a tasty dinner, my friend! Waw even! 🙂 MMMMMMM,… A must make, Georgina! 🙂 xxx
Thanks Sophie! I’m so glad that you liked Chatsworth too – It’s such a great day out, and the farm shop really is wonderful. And this dinner was lovely – I’d definitely recommend it if you can get hold of some good lamb. Enjoy!
🙂 x I made it & it was fantasticly tasty, dear Georgina! 🙂 My hubby Peter & I both loved it so much! 🙂 xxx
That’s really great, Sophie! I’m glad you both enjoyed it so much.
